Using the practice area
Your work stays with you
Free-lesson progress, quiz results, saved phrases and exercise results stay in this browser. My learning has export, import and clear controls. Signing in does not sync this local practice data. Written drafts stay in this tab’s session storage and are excluded from progress exports.
Listening and audio
Listening buttons use your device’s French speech voice, not a human recording. Voice availability depends on your browser and device. Check your volume and available French voices if nothing plays. For human-taught video lessons, visit YouTube lessons.
Model answers and feedback
Model answers and explanations help you compare your work; other French answers may also be valid. A completed activity records practice, not a teacher’s assessment. Bring pronunciation or writing questions to a private lesson for personal feedback.
Before you begin.
Can I use the lessons without an account?+
Yes. Free practice lessons, the phrasebook, and the starting-point check work without an account. Progress and saved phrases stay in this browser; you can export them from My learning.
How do private lessons work?+
Start with a free 30-minute introduction to discuss your level and goals. Choose from the Autumn 2026 packages and agree on a regular Google Meet slot. Send an enquiry to begin; it is not a confirmed booking.
Are these recorded video lessons?+
The free lessons are written practice notes with exercises. Listening buttons use your browser’s French voice. Human-recorded courses and private session replays will be listed separately when actual recordings are available.
Can I pay with PayPal?+
Yes, Mersad’s supplied PayPal.me page is available for lessons whose details have been agreed. Automated course purchases remain unavailable until verified offers and the payment account are configured.
